1)  A note to those of our customers utilizing an on-line bill paying service:

When you initiate your payment online in this method, the paying service deducts the payment from your bank account and then generates a paper check that is mailed to our office.   Allow ample time for the paper check to reach our office.

This payment method is causing some of our customers\' payment to arrive after firm deadlines.  To avoid penalties, your payment must be at the Water District according to the payment guidelines on the back of your bill statement.

2)  Also some of you may be receiving letters indicating a possible water leak.  Our new meter reading software has the capacity to detect a situation in which some water registers on the meter every hour in the 24 hour period preceeding the monthly reading of your meter.  This does not positively indicate a leak; however, we want to pass this information along to you so that you can make an informed check of your private plumbing.  If you have questions regarding this letter, please contact our office.

3)  Sometimes when using water with an "out of the ordinary" flow pattern, such as watering your yard/garden and/or filling a swimming pool, it is possible to get discolored water.  This discoloration is due to the increased velocity flow pattern collecting naturally-occurring sediment that has settled out of the water in the plumbing during normal usage.  Our water is tested by the Department of Natural Resources as their guidelines require.  Per purity test results, discolored water still maintains its "safe to drink" status.  You could purchase a good in-line water filter at your local hardware dealer.  In most cases, this filter will eliminate the potential problem.

Should you have any questions pertaining to any of the above topics, please contact our office.

The staff at Callaway 2 Water District hopes you all have a safe and enjoyable summer!
